Metallographic structure: The structure is characterized by austenitic structure.
Therefore, 310 stainless steel has higher strength and hardness and poorer corrosion resistance, while 310S stainless steel has better corrosion resistance and slightly lower strength. 310S stainless steel is relatively difficult to smelt due to its low carbon content, so the price is relatively high.
There are three differences between stainless steel 310 and 310S:
The chemical composition content of the two is different: s30408 stainless steel pipe, s32168 stainless steel pipe, s31008 stainless steel pipe
1. Chemical composition content of stainless steel 310: C (≤0.25%), Si (≤1.50%), Mn (≤2.00%), P≤ (0.045%), S≤ (0.0.03%), Cr (24.0%) -26.0%), Ni (19.0%-22.0%).
2. Chemical composition content of stainless steel 310S: C (≤0.08%), Si (≤1.500%), Mn (≤2.00%), P≤ (0.035%), S (≤0.030%), Ni (≤19.00%- 22.00%), Cr (≤24.00%-26.00%)
The two have different meanings:
1. The meaning of stainless steel 310: 310 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with good oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance. Because of the higher percentage of chromium and nickel, 310s has much better creep strength and can perform at high temperatures. Continuous operation and good high temperature resistance.
2. The meaning of stainless steel 310S: 310S stainless steel plate is a high-alloy stainless steel belonging to the 25Cr-20Ni series. It has excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance and is suitable for making various furnace components. The maximum temperature is 1200°C and the continuous use temperature is 1150°C.
The characteristics of the two are different:
1. Characteristics of stainless steel 310: high temperature oxidation resistance. Stainless steel has oxidation resistance through the partial oxidation of chromium. During the local oxidation of chromium, a very stable oxide (Cr2O3 chromium oxide) can be formed. As long as the chromium content of the metal is sufficient, a continuous layer of chromium oxide green can be formed on the metal surface to prevent the formation of other oxides and protect the metal.
2. Characteristics of stainless steel 310S: improve the fragile nature of ordinary carbon tool steel, thereby extending the life of the tool. Vacuum degassing refined steel, stable quality. It has good hardenability, oil cooling hardening (less quenching cracks and deformation), good toughness and wear resistance, and the tool is durable.
