Two forms and application examples of stainless steel welded pipes

Stainless steel welded steel pipe is a kind of pipe welded by stainless steel plates or strips after being curled and formed. Its production process is simple and efficient, with low cost and many varieties and specifications, but its strength is generally lower than that of seamless steel pipes. However, with the continuous advancement of production technology, the quality of stainless steel welded pipes is getting better and better, replacing the original seamless steel pipes in many aspects.
According to the weld form, welded steel pipes can be divided into two types: straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes.
The former has a relatively simpler production process, high production efficiency, low cost, and rapid development. The strength of the latter is usually higher than that of the former, and the sources of raw materials used are also wider. However, compared with straight seam stainless steel pipes of the same length, the weld length increases more and the production speed is slower.
Therefore, most small-diameter welded pipes use straight seam welding, and most large-diameter welded pipes use spiral welding. Here are some relevant examples.
Galvanized welded stainless steel pipes for low-pressure fluid transportation are mainly used to transport low-pressure fluids such as water, gas, air, heating steam, and hot water. This type of stainless steel pipe can be divided into ordinary galvanized steel pipe and thickened galvanized steel pipe according to different wall thickness; according to the shape of the pipe end, it can be divided into non-threaded galvanized stainless steel pipe and threaded galvanized stainless steel pipe.

Straight seam electric welded stainless steel pipe is a steel pipe with the weld seam and the stainless steel pipe being longitudinally parallel. Generally divided into metric electric welded steel pipes, electric welded thin-walled pipes and transformer cooling oil pipes, etc.
Spiral seam submerged arc welded stainless steel pipes for pressure-bearing fluid transportation are made of hot-rolled stainless steel coils as tube blanks, formed by spiral processing at room temperature, and welded using double-sided submerged arc welding. They are used as spiral seam steel pipes for pressure-bearing fluid transportation. Stainless steel pipes have stronger pressure-bearing performance, better welding performance, and their safety and reliability have been strictly verified. Stainless steel pipes have large diameters, high transportation efficiency, and can save a lot of investment in pipeline laying.
Spiral welded stainless steel pipes for piles are formed by using hot-rolled stainless steel coils as pipe blanks, spiral forming at room temperature, and double-sided submerged arc welding or high-frequency welding. They are mainly used for stainless steel pipes for foundation piles such as docks or bridges.
