Manual Arc Welding (MMA)

Manual arc welding is a welding method using manual operation of the arc welding electrode for welding. Manual arc welding welding, the use of welding rods and workpieces between the arc will be generated by the welding rod and workpiece local heating to a molten state, the end of the welding rod melted droplets and melted base material fused together to form a molten pool, with the arc moving forward, the molten pool of liquid metal gradually cooled and crystallized to form a weld.

Advantages:

Electrode loss is small, arc length is easy to maintain, welding without flux, flux coating layer, so it is easy to realize mechanization and automation.

Not limited by the position of the weldment, can be all-position welding.

Argon can effectively isolate the surrounding air, it itself is insoluble in metal, not and metal reaction, TIG welding process arc also automatically remove the role of the workpiece surface oxide film. Therefore, can successfully weld easy oxidation, nitrogenation, chemical activity of the colored heat source and filler wire can be controlled separately, so the heat input is easy to regulate, can be a variety of positions of the weld, but also to achieve the ideal method of single-sided welding and double-sided forming.

Disadvantages:

Shallow melting depth, small melting speed, low productivity, higher production costs.
